Hello there, I'm Maundy R. Viaje, a 15-year-old living in the charming town of Poblacion Sta. Catalina in Ilocos Sur. My family consists of my religious and kind-hearted mother, Joane, and my hardworking father, Edmar. The story behind my name is pretty interesting – my mom, being quite religious, named me Maundy after Maundy Thursday. She told me that the name stood out to her, and she thought it was unique. I guess it's kind of cool having a name with such a meaningful origin. Life at home is cozy, although I don't get to see my dad as often as I'd like due to his role as the main provider for our family. But when our paths do cross, I make sure to carve out some time to chat with him or challenge him to a game of classical chess. Those moments might be brief, but they're precious to me.
Living in this small town, I've learned to appreciate the simple things in life. School keeps me busy, juggling homework, friends, and trying to figure out this whole high school thing. Despite the hustle and bustle, I find solace in the love and support of my family, especially during those rare moments when we gather around the chessboard, sharing laughter and creating memories that I'll cherish forever.
My weekends are a mix of chores, games, and family time. I often pitch in to help my mom with household tasks, which makes me feel responsible and gives us a chance to bond. When I'm not busy with that, I dive into the world of online games, getting lost in virtual adventures that let me unwind and escape from the routine. Chess is another one of my passions; there's something thrilling about strategizing and outsmarting opponents. On Sundays, my family and I attend church, a tradition that brings us closer and instills values in us.
During school breaks, my routine shifts. I become a night owl, losing myself in online games and YouTube videos until the early hours. I don't have a large circle of friends, so my social outings are
limited. Usually, leaving the house means a trip to buy necessities. Most of my time is spent in my room, eagerly awaiting the next day's challenges. The familiar comfort of my space allows me to be myself, embracing both the excitement of my virtual endeavors and the peace of simply waiting for what tomorrow might bring.
congratz
